Bio
Kathryn Beavers (b. 1996 - Trenton, NJ) was raised in Bucks County, PA and received her BFA in Painting from The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, Maryland - 2018. Beavers now resides in Philadelphia, PA working with animals and creating art.
Beavers made multiple temporary site specific installations at the Maryland Institute as well as at Metro Gallery in Baltimore and has taken part in different group exhibitions on the east coast and many online exhibitions. She was selected to be a resident at The Vermont Studio Center in April, 2019 and in December 2019 she completed another residency at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, NY, both times making small bodies of work as well as large scale installations and murals. In March 2021 Beavers was selected as Artist of the Month at Calm Waters Coffee Roasters in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Since the pandemic Kathryn has been working on custom commissions, showing in different group shows while also focusing on building a body of work titled FRUITING BODIES, merging together body and landscape to glorify creatures which feel inaccessible, showing how alien is in all of us. She recently showed in an international online group exhibition EXTINCTION: Save The Planet with Gallerium.art as well as ANIMALS OF THE PLANET through biafarin. In June 2024 Beavers was awarded Honorable Mention in the Juried Works on Paper Group Exhibition at the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences. Currently she has multiple works on display and for sale in the Naturalist Gallery Painting Collection at the Naturalist Gallery of Contemporary Art.
