Main Street Arts

December 2019 Resident

Main Street Arts Contemporary Art & Fine Craft is located in Clifton Springs, New York. In the month of December, cold and snowy, this was my second residency. With only two residents per month, I was able to spend much of my time alone, connecting with art through the current and past residents of Main Streets, as well as artists from the shows at the time: Small Works Group Exhibition and The Cup, The Mug. Another large part of my time in upstate NY was connecting with nature, exploring the snowy landscape, and enjoying the grounds I was given to stay in.

During my stay I decided to map out an idea on one of my studio walls using paint to create a mural with smaller parts added on top while I worked on drawing and painting on the side.

Materials: acrylic paint, spray paint, polyfil, canvas, paper, dried plants, dried flowers, animal bedding, wood, cardboard, pen, marker, gouache, and glue

Size : 9 x 13 feet
